ARBITRADE’s associate spoke at the arbitration roundtable in Khmelnitsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Associate of international trade and arbitration practice Yaroslava Sorokhtey spoke at the round table “Arbitration as a way to protect your business: international and domestic arbitration – current trends and innovations”, which took place on 20 December 2013 at the conference hall of Khmelnitsky Chamber of Commerce.
Yaroslava made a presentation on the topic “Arbitration agreement as a basic way to protect the rights of the entrepreneurs, subjects to foreign entrepreneurial activities”. The event was co-organized by Khmelnytsky University of Management and Law, Khmelnytsky Chamber of Commerce, Khmelnytsky Centre of the Ukrainian Bar Association, Arbitration Court at the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce and ARBITRADE.
During the roundtable participants discussed possible ways of development of international commercial arbitration in Ukraine. The round table was attended by 65 people – among those were representatives of the government, independent non-governmental organizations that represented the interests of entrepreneurs and experts in the field of arbitration and commercial dispute resolution. The moderator of the event was Volodymyr Nahnybida (Dean of the Faculty of Law at Khmelnytsky University of Management and Law, PhD in Law, Associate Professor, ACIArb).
Co-reporters at the roundtable were Taras Shepel, the Chairman of the Domestic Arbitration Court at the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, Deputy Chairman of the Domestic Arbitration Chamber of Ukraine and Volodymyr Nahnybida. This event was another step to help business community in Khmelnytsky to develop productive business and protect their own rights and interests.
