Commodities and Maritime Arbitration
We represent clients before the arbitration courts of the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA), the Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Associations (FOSFA), and the Refined Sugar Association (RSA) as well as in the proceedings under the rules of the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA). We possess expert knowledge of both substantive and procedural law in the area of commodities trade and maritime arbitration. Lawyers in our arbitration team are experienced in working with English law and in particular with the standard GAFTA and FOSFA contracts. Yuliya Chernykh, head of the International Arbitration Practice, is a member of the GAFTA International Contract Policy Committee, which plays a central role in reviewing and updating GAFTA contracts. She has conducted a number of courses in maritime arbitration in Brazil under the auspices of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
We also act as representatives in maritime arbitration at the Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MAC at the UCCI) and the Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
